Thanksgiving is one of my favorite Holidays and there are a couple of traditions that are a must every year.
I love Sugar Paper’s Thanksgiving Project cards to pass out and put on everyone’s place setting. It’s not only great for conversation but also helps so that everyone can reflect and share. It truly creates special moments around the dinner table. Each person chooses a card and answers a question, pondering the past year and looking forward to the next. You can visit www.sugarpaper.com and download the questions for free or purchase them at the Sugar Paper shop at Brentwood Country Mart.
I also love to assign each family member a dish to make for Thanksgiving dinner and this is one of my all time favorites. It’s delicious and easy to make and goes great with all the other dishes.
You will need:
1 (8 1⁄2 ounce) box corn muffin mix (I like Jif)
1 (7 1⁄2 ounce) can whole kernel corn
1 (7 1⁄2 ounce) can creamed corn
1 cup sour cream
2 large eggs, beaten
1⁄2 cup melted unsalted butter
1⁄2 cup grated Swiss cheese
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Combine all the ingredients except the cheese in a large mixing bowl. Pour into a lightly greased 9 x 13 inch baking dish. Bake for 35 minutes. Sprinkle grated Swiss on top and bake 10 minutes more. You will know it’s done when a toothpick comes out clean.
