Chocolate Graham Cracker Toffee Recipe

Years ago I got this Graham Cracker Toffee recipe from my children’s babysitter Nathalie who helped us each summer in Martha's Vineyard.  Since then I have made these treats several times and they are big hit especially during the holiday season. 
Graham Crackers
1-cup butter
1-cup light brown sugar
2 cups chocolate chips 
dash of salt

First you will preheat the oven to 350 degrees. 

Next, line a baking sheet with foil and spray with cooking spray.

Assemble single layer of graham crackers on the baking sheet.

Place butter and brown sugar in pot and heat. Stir consistently.
Once the butter has melted, bring to a boil for 3 minutes.

The sugar should be caramelized

Pour the mixture over the layer of graham crackers and spread evenly.

Place in oven for 10 minutes.

Remove pan from oven and immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips on top. 

Let the chocolate chips sit for 3 minutes
and then spread the melted chocolate with a spatula. 
Once the pan has cooled and the chocolate has hardened, break the toffee into pieces and serve. 

*This toffee is great for hostess gifts or just having around the house during the holidays.
